Halfway Home

Okay...so I'm not exactly halfway home, but I'm close. I'm holed up in a hotel just outside of Kansas City. The rest of my entourage is snoring away (i.e. Dad, Abigail, and Samson). We got off to a slow start this morning. My car wasn't finished at the shop until noon. When we went to pick it up, we discovered that the roads were icy due to blowing snow. Then we spent about an hour trying to decide if we wanted to risk bad roads or wait another day. We decided to start out and see how far we could get. After only about 10 miles of bad roads, the snow cleared up and the rest of the trip was smooth sailing as far as the road conditions were concerned.

We arrived in KC around 9:00pm and checked into the hotel that Jay and I always stay at. I probably would have tried to find another hotel, but it is extremely difficult to find hotels that take 100 lb Chocolate Labs...even if they are as cute and lovable as the Samson Dog.

It's difficult to be here without Jason. When we stay here we always get Chipotle Burritos and stay up until the wee hours of the morning watching Dirty Jobs and Law & Order reruns since we don't have cable at home. Sitting here typing in the dark is just not quite the same.

Hey Joy!
Thanks for keeping up this blog...it is so good to read your thoughts and I know so much better how I can be praying for you. I pray so much that God just keeps you safe step by step and that fear doesn't overwhelm you. I picture Him blocking the arrows as they fly at you, and lifting you out and holding you when you're sinking into it...like when I pick my little sister up when we're at the beach and the water gets too deep for her . I really love you CP sis, just as though CP 05 was yesterday!
